i spent 8 months in 2001 travelling up the brazilian coast, starting in sao paulo and reaching my climax in the amazon. i discovered that the further north you go in brasil, the more beautiful it gets, and the nicer, warmer, more relaxed and happy the people and the environment.

vultures compete with humans for the scraps of fish and bones. its not a particularly pleasant scene, but it is striking. the vultures are aggressive, nasty, with little fear but a certain amount of contempt for humans.
